Hi - we've managed to get through a long rough patch at our house due to the economy and we are starting to see the light of day for us. We want very much to rescue a boy Cardi to join our family and mini-herd. There are too many stories about people who've had to give up their dogs because they can't afford them.

If you know of any Cardis displaced and in need of a new forever home, please let me know. We have 2 already, Otis (10) and Luna Mae (2), so we think a male would be best; ideally at least 4 years old, and in the north east. I'm willing to go farther but have had some reluctance from rescuers.

Thanks for your help!

The thing to do is put an application in now rather than wait until they have a dog you want- most dogs go to waiting applicants.

The local rescue coordinator for CWCNRT is setting us up with a foster dog tomorrow! We opted to foster first to see how it goes with our two and adding a new Cardi into the mix, and to make sure we have a good fit.

Can't wait to meet him and bring him into our pack. He's coming from a home with an elderly couple who just can't manage their own declining health and the dogs.

I'll post pictures soon after our boy arrives tomorrow. +YAHOO+

That's so cool Melissa! A great way to get a feel for things! I hope that it all goes well - who knows, maybe he'll just settle in and not have to go anywhere to find his forever home. Good luck to you all!

This is great news Melissa. If it is one of the ones I am thinking it is ... it sounds as if you might have some work cut out for you. Slow, steady, and easy also implementing NILF might be a good idea for him. The structure and boundaries could help give him some security and reinforce who is in charge and pack leader.
