I quit rescue more than six months ago- but when I was contacted about a Corgi needing a new home I couldn't say no.

Robbie is a 17 month old Pembroke and is an absolute doll. He is a perfect gentleman and is very sweet.
His previous owners were also his "breeders." They still have his sire, and plan to keep him just in case they want to get "back into breeding."
They had advertised him on a local website, and when they got no hits they started being a bit desperate. The price went lower and lower until they were giving him away. I couldn't stand it and contacted them. The reason for their desperation? They are getting divorced and neither of them wanted him. I will never understand people.
Regardless, I couldn't say no to Robbie, and after getting them to sign the surrender form I am very thankful that I took him. He will be an easy adoption I am sure!
He settled into my house with no issues, and had a great sleep in his crate last night. I took him to daycare today and he had lots of fun- he will most definitely be tired tonite!
He is quite different than my dogs- he is very affectionate, and wants to please you. He also likes to be close to you all the time.
Robbie is very cute, and has a very soft expression. Those eyes of his will catch him a great home I am sure. He is overweight though- and probably has been his whole life. He has flat feet, and his toe nails were very long. He doesn't have much muscle, and is easily tired out. It will take a few weeks to get the weight off, and to get him in good shape. Thankfully otherwise he is healthy- and has been neutered already.
I picked up a reduced calorie dog food today, and a few cans of green beans! I have pumpkin on hand, and plan to cut back his kibble, and increase the beans! He only has about 7-10 lbs to lose- and with an active lifestyle I am pretty confident we can get the weight off.
Anyway, I thought I'd share his story, and a few pics. He's a pretty cute fella!
