Introducing Prince Charles, who is waiting for a special person to take him home.

Charles is about 2 years old, and was picked up by animal control after he was apparently hit by a car (which appears to have resulted in paralysis of his hind legs.) He's currently in foster care in Portland, Oregon.

Unlike Candy, he is fully in control of his bodily functions. Thanks to some wonderful donors he just got a brand new cart from K9cartsWest (where Monty-Candy's cart came from) and is very mobile. He has some slight use of one leg so might possibly regain some function in it but the odds are he will stay in a cart for his whole life. However, considering how quickly he took to the cart, and his young age, I think he will soon be as much of a pro as Candy is.

In this picture, Charles is on the left. You can see that he is smaller than Candy by a bit. He is about 22 pounds, which means that he is an easy corgi to carry.

For more information about adopting Charles, contact corgirescue@oregoncorgis.org Candy is living in Oregon but I imagine arrangements could be made for an out-of-area adopter if the right person comes along.

If you think you might be interested but want to know more about living with a corgi in a cart, feel free to pm or email me or post questions here.

UPDATE: Charles has been adopted!

AWWW! There's a Prince I could truly go head over heels for! I wish I could give him a home, but four's the limit in South Florida (which is probably a good thing or I'd have 10!)

Best wishes Little Prince!

I'd take him home myself if I didn't have five. Having two on wheels wouldn't bother me- the stuff you have to do for one is the same for the second, which in our case is put up a ramp on the stairs. (First job when I get home but only two steps there so it won't be too bad- the biggest problem there is that since it will block the stairs I have to make it sturdy enough for me, too.) But I can't manage six in the car on trips.

He is a beautiful looking dog. I hope that he is able to find a great home soon.

BTW - aren't the real Prince Charle's ears bigger than his! :BIGGRIN"

That picture of Candy, Prince Charles and the other dog with their carts is the cutest thing ever. You should use it for marketing carts or soliciting donations for CorgiAid - who could resist those three? They all look so happy and proud of themselves.

UPDATE: Charles has been adopted!

That's fantastic news Bobbie!!!!

I'm so happy for him.+CLAPPING+

Are you able to tell us something about his new forever home?

From his foster mom:

"Charles has a new home!
His new home contains 2 fluffy corgis who were rescues themselves from
our club's rescue and a lab mix who was a rescue years ago from a
neighbor.
Charles is now on 5 acres in rural area of Oregon. "

Trish said later that Charles runs all over in his wheels, which were donated by four wonderful people who wanted to help.

Wonderful! Sounds like Charles has a full and happy life ahead of him, a loving home, lots of space to roll and companions to play with.

He's a very lucky corgi to have had you and the others care for him.+TUP+
