My research came up with:

Making an Elizabethan collar

Made of flexible plastic and foam, they are machine washable and are the only cervical restraint with a harness strap can get at JB pet or http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=0&mscssid=9CFPVKHQRR5D9JAAC86BFU0JJSN106D8&pf_id=0028630

Is the flexible collar that Delta's Vet sold. I have emailed the company for a retail price as my Vet only stocks the hard plastic collar.

Fabric covered foam collar $19 on this website regardless of size.

mentions using boys pants with the tail through the fly to protect the hindquarters

Petsleeves Rx is a one piece DISPOSABLE garment that securely covers the torso of the pet. (My son says this looks like a one piece bathing suit. But it is good to see if you want to sew your own)

The Vet America price on the trimline is our winner. I worry that the other types are too large to fit in his crate!

Merrie: I clicked on that link and that looks like the exact one that Mojo has, and I will never use any other kind, if needed, for my two. Miss Gambler had that trauma to her ears that time and had to wear the hard plastic one and she became VERY depressed, and it looked like it hurt her. That cloth one is washable also. I believe my vet charged $12 for it, but that was probably for a mid range size, so add a few dollars for one to fit a Corgi.

Yes, I noticed the smaller was less expensive. The 8 inch size for Chester (he has a long nose and long neck) would probably be as long as Mojo's body!

It is nice to do a search and discover my post of research, I forgot I did! This afternoon or evening, I will try the yogurt container, homemade "bite not" to see if Chester can reach his privates. If it works well I'll find the velcro and make one with that.

Turns out he needed a 10 inch long flexible Elizabethan collar. Those two inches allow his nose to reach areas. Also being a large, it can flip back and Chester has access or totally tripped him. It was fine the first day he was so groggy and not determined.

I don't want Chester be forced to wear a 16 inch wide cone collar again. His head bobs back and forth with the weight. I'm pleased to say, Chester is Chester, and there are teeth mark holes in the collar, which will show the Vet office, this wasn't the best for this dog. He was able to grab the overlap.

There are a lot of good ideas for making your own collar. I hate to see the dogs fumbling around with those big floppy collars. I may use foam pipe insulation to make a collar to fit Duchess. I don't even think she will need one because she is with us all the time.

If you are monitoring her, she'll probably be fine, but having somethig on hand to do in a pinch is a good idea.

The Penn Vet Hospital uses these blue E collars, they look like the old hard plastic ones but they are much more pliable and floppy.

Tucker learned how to use his E collar to scratch his incision. That got ugly!

Oh my word, this thread brought back memories. You see, my Christmas card from Chester said "Heck with the front teeth, all I want for Christmas is my testicles".:TWITCHY:
