The furkids went to the Vet's today, Dylan just to get his nails clipped and a quick once over. His leg is great and he weighed in at a svelte 28lb even.
But Montrose got 'the works' and she is doing well.
We had a long talk, and she got a full exam from nose to butt. She's still at 25.5 lb which is great as of course she isn't as active. Anal glands were good, skirt is ok, no urine burns on her skin, (she needs a fair amount of washing), stool is fine, her heart is strong and she got her nails clipped too. When he asked me if she had any 'leakage' when she is sleeping and I said yes, he prescribed some meds for that. Her appetite is normal, she is drinking normally, sleeping well and is alert and as spunky as always, especially with the Vet.:ROLLEYES
I also told our Vet that we would be bringing in a new patient next month.:D
It's always a relief to have them checked over and know that they are ok isn't it? I probably won't think of anything to worry about.....for at least a couple of days.

What a nice way to get the day started, to hear that your two got a clean bill of health. I'm sure that you gave them a special treat for having to suffer through that cold table during the exam. Miss Gamber always gives me the saddest of looks, as if to ask "Mommy, why are you letting them do this to me?" She always gets a special treat after the vet, always has. Mojo loves the vet, lots of new people there to French .

It's great to be able to share good news, heaven knows you are all here for us when it's not.+WUBCLUB+
And yes they each got a treat to eat, but they always get to go for a drive to somewhere they really like to visit after each Vet appt.
Yesterday is was some time to enjoy a walk around the lake at the library downtown. A beautiful setting, lots of lilies floating, ducks swimming, and interesting winding paths through the landscaping, and children to give them attention. As we passed one family and I heard the lady tell her little boy when she saw Dylan, 'Look, a pooddle."
I do hope she goes into the library and signs out a Breed Book.

I've had a couple of those vet visits Barbara, where they were more for my piece of mind than for anything else. Poor Mojo, when she a baby, we had everything under the sun done to her. (I had myself convinced that there had to be some terrible reason relating to illness for why she was dumped, and I was scared about that, for her, and for Miss Gambler.) Finally, one of our vets just said, "Enough! She's fine, enjoy her." So then I knew that the person who dumped her just had to be an ***. But it is amazing how much those piece of mind trips can do for us!

There's a reason she came to your care. +WUBCLUB+ Monty and Mojo are obviously very blessed to have such good mommies!!!

I want to change my post, and since Mrs. Grace quoted it, I want the amendment to be seen, hence, the new post. I didn't mean that there was a justifiable excuse in dumping Mojo, even if there had been something wrong, even genetically, that would not excuse dumping a defenseless puppy in the middle of the desert. I can still get upset when I start to wonder whether or not there were more, if she had been dumped with a litter, and if we maybe could have found them if we kept looking. Again, I just read my post and it sounded like I would excuse the dumping if there had been a health reason, and I would never excuse or forgive that kind of behavior.

Delta, that didn't come across like that at all.
I don't know about everyone else, but I read that as you weren't justifying someone dumping her, but you were concerned that it may have been someone elses inexcusable reason for leaving her, and as her new awesome mommy you wanted to give your girl the best. Hence the 800 tests and visits.
We got your back.

WONDERFUL CHECKUP NEWS MONTY and DYLAN!!!
How great the Vet is to know to ask about leakage and be able to prescribe. I'm to the point now I have to make a list of topics to ask about, as doctors/vets can be too busy to think about asking questions to be sure everything is okay. Glad this Vet does take the time.

You make me blush, thank you. :NOTWORTHY: Delta, you and all the corgi mums here are my role models. I've just been one a bit longer than some.
Now don't you go confusing that with 'having been around the block a few times'.
And I really appreciate all the helpful ideas that I'm getting from the new mums for my Danny.:)
